蒲公英

在加拿大生活時，見到在草地上初開花的蒲公英會覺得很漂亮。但花落後就變成巫婆一般醜陋。因為蒲公英繁殖快速，而且植物的基生葉會覆蓋大面積的草地，令草枯死，變成光禿禿的，所以當發現屋前的草地長出蒲公英，就要立即將之連根拔。

美國民謠樂隊，有過關於蒲公英 dandelion 的歌曲，開玩笑式的說明其生長速度之快。

【來源】 菊科植物蒲公英Taraxacum mongolicum Hand.-Mazz.的乾燥全草。
【產地】 主產于陝西、河北以及東北地區。
【性狀】 皺縮捲曲的團塊，根圓柱形，多彎曲長3~7cm，棕褐色，根頭部有茸毛，葉破碎，完整葉片為倒披針形，暗灰綠色或綠褐色，邊緣淺裂或具有羽狀缺刻，基部下延成柄狀，下表面主脈明顯，花葶1至數條，頭狀花序頂生，黃褐色或淡黃白色，有的可見多數具有白色冠毛的長橢圓形瘦果，氣微，味微苦。
【品質】 以顏色灰綠、無雜質、乾燥者為佳。
【性味】 甘、微苦，寒。
【功效】 清熱解毒，消腫散結。主治上呼吸道感染，眼結膜炎，流行性腮腺炎，高血糖，乳癰腫痛，胃炎，痢疾，肝炎，膽囊炎，急性闌尾炎，泌尿系感染，盆腔炎，癰癤疔瘡，咽炎，治急性乳腺炎，淋巴腺炎，瘰癘，疔毒瘡腫，急性結膜炎，感冒發熱，急性扁桃體炎，急性支氣管炎、尿路感染。

【植物形態】 多年生葶狀草本，高10-25厘米。全株含白色乳汁，被疏白色柔毛。根深長，單一分枝，直徑通常3-5毫米，外皮黃棕色。葉根生，排列成蓮座狀；具葉柄，柄基部兩側擴大呈鞘狀；葉片卵狀披針形，倒披針形或長圓狀披針形，長6-15厘米，寬2-3.5厘米，先端尖或鈍，基部狹窄，下延，邊緣淺裂或作不規則羽狀分裂，裂片三角披針形或三角狀，全緣或疏齒，裂片間有細齒，被白色蛛絲狀毛，葉脈和主脈常帶紫紅色。花狀花序單一，頂生，徑3-4厘米，全為兩性舌狀花；總苞片2-3層，外面卵狀披針形，內面一層線狀披針形，邊緣膜質，緣具蛛絲狀毛，內、外苞生先端均有小角狀突起；花冠黃色，舌片長約8毫米，邊緣花舌片背面具紫紅色條紋；雄蕊5，花藥合生成筒狀包於花柱外，花絲分離；雌蕊1，子房下位，花柱細長，柱頭2裂，有短毛。瘦果倒披針形，暗褐色，長4-5毫米，寬1.5毫米，具縱棱，並有橫紋相連，果上全部有刺狀突起，果頂具長8-10毫米的喙；冠毛白色，長約7毫米。花期4-5月，果期6-7月。
【生境分佈】 生於山坡草地、路旁、路旁、河岸、沙地及田間。 分佈於東北、華北、華東、華中、西南及陜西、甘肅、青海等地。 藥材主產於全國大部分地區。
【藥用部位】 以全草入藥。中藥名: 蒲公英。
【採收加工】 4-5月開花前或剛開花時連根挖取，除將泥土，曬乾。
【主要成分】 全草含蒲公英甾醇(taraxasterol)，膽鹼(choline)，菊糖(inulin)，果膠(pectin)等。
【藥理作用】 抗病原微生物，抗腫瘤，抗胃潰瘍，利膽及保肝。
【性味功能】 苦、甘，寒。清熱解毒，消癰散結。
【主治用法】 乳癰，肺癰，腸癰，痄腮，疔毒瘡腫，目赤腫痛，感冒發熱，咳嗽，咽喉腫痛，胃火，腸炎，痢疾，肝炎，膽嚇炎，尿路感染，蛇蟲咬傷。內服: 煎湯，10-30克，大劑量60克；大劑量60克，或搗汁；或入散劑。外用: 適量，搗敷。非實熱之症及陰疽者慎服。
【應用舉例】 1. 治乳癰初起: 蒲公英一兩，忍冬藤二兩，生甘草二錢，水二盅，煎一盅，食前服。(《洞天奧旨》英藤湯)
2. 治疳瘡疔毒: 蒲公英搗爛覆之，別更搗汁，和酒煎服，取汗。(《綱目》引《唐氏方》)
3. 治慢性胃炎，胃潰瘍: 蒲公英乾根、地榆根各等分，研末，每日3次，生姜湯送服。(南京地區常用中草藥)
